YTF Protests Near Indo-Bangladesh Border Over Controversial Embankment Issue
Belonia (Tripura), India, April 29 (ANI): The Youth Tipra Federation YTF the young branch of the governing BJP’s coalition companion Tipra Motha The party organized a large-scale demonstration in Belonia, situated near the India-Bangladesh border. Bangladesh border , opposing the "illegitimate" construction of an embankment within Bangladeshi territory.
On Monday, the demonstrators voiced significant objections regarding the intrusion efforts, stressing that these building endeavors jeopardize the delicate border security and upset the population equilibrium in Northeast India. They further denounced the ongoing flow of unauthorized immigrants, the targeted oppression of minority groups in Bangladesh, as well as the escalating antagonistic stance taken by Bangladeshi officials toward the northeastern area.
The protest saw banners and chants calling for prompt measures to secure India's frontiers and preserve the native culture of Tripura as well as the wider Northeast region.
In a social media update, the founder of the Tipra Motha The TMP party, which has emerged as a significant political entity in Tripura, expressed robust backing for the movement led by young people. The leader emphasized, "This sends a definitive message to everyone: we won’t permit our boundaries, citizens, or heritage to be infringed upon."
He additionally claimed that thousands of party members were barred by BSF officers from directly intervening in the unauthorized embankment construction, suggesting that this might lead to more severe consequences if granted permission. He stated, "Our young people just require the go-ahead. Everything else will be managed accordingly."
