Chinese Forces Echo Vietnam's Triumph in Ho Chi Minh City Reunification Parade Rehearsal
Chinese troops took part in the dress rehearsals for Ho Chi Minh City’s April 30 parade, performing “It Feels Like Uncle Ho Is with Us on Victory Day” to commemorate international friendship and unity.
A group of Chinese troops performed "It Feels Like Comrade Ho [Ho Chi Minh] Is Among Us on Victory Day" in Vietnamese as they paraded through District 1 on Sunday, rehearsing for the April 30 unification commemorations.
A number of locals participated, harmonizing with the parade as it went by.
The composition by Pham Tuyen, which he crafted within merely two hours during the evening of April 28, 1975, made its debut on the airwaves via the Voice of Vietnam on April 30, 1975.
Initially, 118 personnel from the Chinese military landed in Ho Chi Minh City on April 27 to join the May 1 parade, as invited by Vietnam’s Ministry of National Defense. This event underscores the strong ties between both countries.
Besides China, military units from both Laos and Cambodia will join the procession on April 30.
