Gold Prices Soar to Unprecedented Highs – International Edition (English)

Gold prices in Vietnam reached unprecedented peaks during Thursday morning trading amid an increase in international precious metal values.

The price of gold bars from Saigon Jewelry Company increased by 1.96%, reaching an unprecedented level of VND103.9 million (approximately US$4,023.24) per tael. It’s important to note that one tael equates to 37.5 grams or about 1.2 ounces.

The cost of a gold ring jumped by 1.57%, reaching VND103.3 million per tael, setting yet another record high.

Worldwide, spot gold continued its upward trend on Thursday and was recently trading 0.5% higher at $3,097.52 per ounce. Reuters reported.

The valuable metal saw an earlier surge on Wednesday amid a widespread recovery in both commodity markets and equities. This followed comments from U.S. President Donald Trump stating that he would momentarily reduce newly imposed tariffs on numerous nations, while simultaneously escalating taxes on imports from China.

Gold surged over 3% on Wednesday, marking its strongest performance since October 2023, fueled by safe-haven buying as US-China trade conflicts intensified.
