Dawoodi Bohra Community Honors Victims of JK Terror Attack in New York
New York [US], April 27 (ANI): The Dawoodi Bohra community in Queens, New York, gathered on Sunday to pay heartfelt tribute to the innocent victims of the Pahalgam terrorist attack and condemned the attack.
On a post on X, the community stated, "The Dawoodi Bohra community denounces the terrorist incident in Pahalgam. This heartbreaking occurrence has claimed the lives of unsuspecting individuals, causing immense grief for their loved ones. To show support for those affected and to pay tribute to them, our community members worldwide participate in a period of silent reflection."
Amidst global condemnation of the assault, hundreds of Canadians from various backgrounds convened on a cold evening in Toronto for an extensive candlelit vigil and protest against the recent slaughter of Hindus in Pahalgam within Jammu and Kashmir, carried out by extremists backed by Pakistan.
Hosted by Hindu Forum Canada, COHNA, and various additional Hindu groups, the gathering on Saturday attracted more than 500 individuals from different communities including Hindus, Jews, Baloch people, Iranians, and other Canadians. They took to the streets of Toronto shouting “Pakistan Murdabad” and demanded that the Canadian authorities recognize Pakistan as a terror sponsor nation.
During the somber watch, representatives from every involved community called for prompt and resolute measures. This assembly condemned both the bloodshed in Kashmir and the wider menace posed by Islamist-jihadi radicalism. Hindu organizations were accompanied by Jewish, Iranian, Baloch, and additional Canadian entities, uniting side-by-side to declare their collective opposition to terror. The demonstration paid tribute to those killed in the Pahalgam incident through lit candles and heartfelt supplications, conveying the imperative that acts of terrorism should face confrontation rather than indifference.
In sharp contrast, the rally highlighted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s assertion: “What occurred in Israel could occur anywhere,” which now echoes profoundly amid the crisis in Kashmir. The speakers cautioned that terrorism disregards boundaries and that apathy fuels extremism further. However, numerous attendees pointed out the striking absence of outcry from those who once organized large demonstrations for Gaza but have remained silent as Hindu citizens in India suffer from comparable acts of extreme violence.
